Tired of Waiting? So Were We. Introducing Rolling Admissions for our RN to BSN Program!

MSUM_Signature_Vert_R&G

We realize that students need to know what’s happening for their fall or spring semester. Finding out if you have been accepted into a program only shortly before it starts doesn’t leave a lot of room to make backup plans if things didn’t turn out the way you had hoped. It is a bit of guesswork on how many programs you should apply to “guarantee” you’ll get into one, and we want to help our students by notifying them as soon as possible.

Every 6 weeks from now on we will be reviewing the applications we have received and contact the applicants with our decision. That means you can apply right now and find out within a month! This early decision gives you the chance to make changes and finalize your plans and lower some of the nervous energy you may be feeling. It also gets rid of the looming deadline of when the application window slams shut.

The first group of applicants have already found out if they are in or not. I do have to say, we had a lot of excellent applicants for Spring 2018 so far. We will still have the same number of spots open, so the earlier you turn in your application the better if you want to better your chances of acceptance.

MSUM_Signature_Horz_R&G

Have you registered for Fall classes yet? The spots are filling up fast and it is important to get the classes that you need and want before they are gone! In order to do this be sure to register on the eServices site link here:  https://www.mnstate.edu/eservices/ .

When registering for classes your Degree Audit Report (DARS) will be very helpful. This is available through the eServices site by selecting “Grades and Transcripts” then the “Interactive Degree Audit Report” tab. This report is tailored to each student and provides a list of all necessary and completed coursework.

Once you are ready to begin the class search, click on “Courses and Registration,” then “Search for a Course.” Here you can search through various course offerings in a variety of subjects and pick the classes you want to sign up for. There is also the option to search for courses by tittle or specific class ID. This method is most helpful when you know which classes you are in need of to fulfill graduation requirements.  After you’ve found the class for you, click on the plus sign to the left of the class tittle. Completing this action will add the course to your wishlist for later registration . After clicking the add button, you can go to “Review My Plan” under “Courses and Registration” to see the items that have been added to your wishlist. From here, select the courses you want to take and click “Proceed to Register”. After this step, you will need to input your access code. To get this code you must contact your advisor to discuss you options and graduation requirements. The last step is to put in your star ID password and click the button to complete registration. If any course conflicts exist you will be notified during this process. If you are unable to solve this problem or have any questions please contact your advisor directly or the School of Nursing and Healthcare Leadership at nursing@mnstate.edu.
