There are no Classes today, January 18th, in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
What can we do with such a wondrous day off? We can all support the memory of this iconic American hero. He fought in the Civil Rights Movement, in fact, he was a leader of the Civil Rights Movement. So, while we may be catching up on homework, or sleep, we should keep in mind all of the sacrifices that had to made to make this country what it is today.
Or… We could all step up to the plate and donate some of our time to volunteer efforts for any cause. Heck, we could all ride the bus, since that was a breaking point for the movement to enter full swing.
Martin Luther King Jr. Day was officially observed in 1986, but only officially recognized in all states in 2000. This day goes by many names throughout the US, but the gist of it remains the same. Remember that all men are created equal. That is the Dream.
