Tuesday, September 25th was RAINN (Rape, Abuse, and Incest National Network) Day, a nationwide event designed to raise awareness and educate students about sexual violence on college campuses.
According to campus policies:
“Sexual violence is an intolerable intrusion into the most personal and private rights of an individual, and is prohibited at Minnesota State University Moorhead (MSUM). MSUM is committed to eliminating sexual violence in all forms and will take appropriate remedial action against any individual found responsible for acts in violation of this policy.”
Here at MSUM we take sexual violence very seriously. If you, or someone you know, would like on-campus help please see more info at: http://www.mnstate.edu/InternalTemplate.aspx?pageid=2147508985&terms=sexual
RAINN is more than just a National Awareness Day, it is also an organization. RAINN created and operates the National Sexual Assault Hotline (800.656.HOPE and online.rainn.org). They work with more than 1,000 local rape crisis centers across the nation and operates the DoD Safe Helpline for the Department of Defense. The organization also participates in programs to prevent sexual violence, help victims, and ensure that rapists are brought to justice.
According to Worth Magazine:
RAINN: The nation’s largest anti-sexual assault organization.
One of “America’s 100 Best Charities”
